#SFGAfcon20 – Mustapha Hadji v Egypt, 1998

Mustapha Hadji was better known for his ability to beat a man, or, usually, men. On this occasion, though, he showed variance in his repertoire to execute a perfect over-head kick. It was stoppage time of the final game of the group stage for the Atlas Lions, the draw was more than enough to ensure their path to the knockout stages as group runners-up behind Egypt.

Hadji’s moment of brilliance was enough to leapfrog their rivals in the table. And though they would fall at the next hurdle to South Africa, and Egypt would have the last laugh by going on to win the title, this goal has lived long in the memory of African football connoisseurs.
